What changed in v1.2

SectionChange
Short version, §6New rule: don't book recording for a session where anyone playing is under 18.
§7Advertising in the app is not personalised during our pilot (matches Privacy Policy v4.4).
§1, §3, §9The Privacy Policy address is given in full: onlygoals.co.uk/privacy.

The short version

You must be 18 or over, and you must not book recording for a game where anyone playing is under 18. Everyone is blurred by default and you choose whether to show your face. Clips you download are for your own personal use: keep the watermark on, don't use them to embarrass or harass anyone, and don't try to unblur other people. If you break these rules we may stop your downloads, suspend your account or close it. The app is free during our pilot.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Only Goals Ltd (company number 17316966, registered in England and Wales), The Loft, Old Foundry, Victoria Street, Leicester, United Kingdom, LE7 2LF ('Only Goals', 'we', 'us'). They apply when you use the Only Goals app.

When you create an account you will be asked to accept these terms. We record which version you accepted and when. Our Privacy Policy, at onlygoals.co.uk/privacy, explains how we use your personal data. It is a notice for your information, not part of this agreement.

2. Who can use the app

  • You must be 18 or over. If we find an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it.
  • You must give accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date.
  • One account per person. Your account is personal to you and you must not let anyone else use it.
  • Keep your password safe. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.

3. What the app does

The app lets you watch footage of matches you played in at our partner venues, get highlights and see statistics.

  • Booking and matches. You book your pitch with the venue as usual, then create or join the match in the app. Recording starts when it has been booked in the app.
  • Blurred by default. Everyone is blurred in footage unless they have chosen to show their face.
  • Claiming a match. You confirm which player you are by picking your blurred silhouette and confirming a second image. Once you have claimed a match, you get your footage and statistics, and you stay blurred.
  • Showing your face. This is optional and off unless you turn it on. If you turn it on, other players in your match can see your face, and they may download and share clips. You can turn it off at any time, and your face won't be shown in matches you claim from then on. Once your face has been shown in a match, that footage can't be blurred again, because the other players in that match keep it too. It is removed at the end of its retention period, or earlier only in special circumstances, as our Privacy Policy (onlygoals.co.uk/privacy) explains. We can't recall clips that have already been shared.
  • Statistics are a best estimate. They are produced automatically and may sometimes be wrong. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will check it.
  • Pilot. The app is in a pilot phase. It is free to use during the pilot. Features may change, and we may add or remove them as we learn what works.

We can't guarantee that every match will be recorded or that footage will always be available. Cameras, power or internet connections at a venue can fail, and footage may be held back if our system can't be sure it has been blurred correctly.

4. Your profile: names and photos

You can add a name and a photo to your profile. You own what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to other users inside the app for as long as it is on your profile. You can change or remove it at any time.

Your profile name and photo must not:

  • show anyone other than you without their permission;
  • show a child;
  • be offensive, abusive, threatening, sexual or discriminatory;
  • pretend to be someone else, or suggest you are connected to a club, brand or person when you are not; or
  • include anyone else's personal details.

We may remove a profile name or photo that breaks these rules.

5. Downloaded clips

Where download is available, you can download clips of matches you have claimed. These rules apply to every clip you download or share, wherever you share it.

You may

keep clips for yourself and share them with friends, family and on your own social media, for non-commercial purposes.

You must not

  • remove, crop out, cover or alter the Only Goals watermark or any sponsor advertising in the clip;
  • try to unblur, enhance or identify anyone else in a clip, by any means, including other software or AI tools;
  • edit a clip to mock, embarrass, bully, harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
  • use a clip in a way that suggests someone in it endorses a product, brand or cause;
  • sell clips, use them in advertising, or use them for any commercial purpose without our written permission; or
  • refuse a reasonable request from someone in a clip to take down a post that shows them.

If these rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, and whether it has happened before, we may:

  • warn you;
  • stop you downloading clips;
  • suspend your account; or
  • close your account.

We may also ask the platform where a clip was posted to remove it, and report serious misuse, such as threats or harassment, to the police. We will tell you what we have done and why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us.

If you think a clip of you has been misused, email [email protected].

6. Using the app fairly

You must not:

  • book recording for a session where anyone playing is under 18;
  • try to get around the blurring, the watermark or any other privacy protection;
  • copy, scrape or collect footage, statistics or other users' details in bulk;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or interfere with the app or our systems, except where the law allows;
  • use bots or automated tools with the app;
  • claim a match you didn't play in, or pretend to be another player; or
  • use the app for anything unlawful.

7. Advertising and sponsors

The app shows advertising, and match footage may carry sponsor advertising. During our pilot, advertising in the app is never personalised: it's chosen by where you play, not by anything about you. If we offer personalised advertising in future, it will be off unless you turn it on, and we will tell you before it starts. If you show your face, your image may appear alongside a sponsor's brand. That does not mean you endorse the sponsor, and our sponsors may not suggest that you do. Our Privacy Policy (onlygoals.co.uk/privacy) explains how advertising uses data.

8. Who owns what

We own, or have permission to use, the app, the footage, highlights and statistics, our software, and the Only Goals name and logo. Venue and sponsor names and logos belong to them.

We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use the app and the footage of your own matches in line with these terms. That permission ends if your account closes.

9. Your account: closing and suspension

You can delete your account at any time in the app. Our Privacy Policy (onlygoals.co.uk/privacy) explains what happens to your data when you do.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we need to for legal or safety reasons, or if the pilot ends. Unless the law or someone's safety stops us, we will tell you before we act, or as soon as we can afterwards, and explain why. If we close the app for everyone, we will give you reasonable notice so you can download your footage first.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide the app with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for:

  • loss that was not foreseeable;
  • business losses, as the app is for personal use;
  • anything another user does with a clip they downloaded or shared; or
  • the pitch, the match or the venue. The venue is responsible for its facilities.

We do not exclude or limit our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and ask you to accept the new version. We keep every version, so you can always see what you agreed to.

We won't start charging for anything without telling you first and asking you to agree.

12. Complaints and contact

If something goes wrong, contact us at [email protected] and we will try to put it right. For anything about your personal data, email [email protected].

13. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
